Most affirmations are someone else's pretty words, repeated until they go numb. They coddle; they don't stick.

So we don't swallow them whole. Each one gets a devil's avocado — an honest, cheeky counter-take — and then you re-author it in your own words, until it's actually true for you. (It's English practice, too.)
