David Yeager · book + talk

A book-and-talk learning pack about motivating young people through status, respect, high standards and real support.

Why it’s here

I first heard about 10 to 25 during Orientation at school, when the principal recommended it. Later, several classmates in the community mentioned the book too, and someone found David Yeager’s full talk. With both the book and video available, this page brings the related material together: the original book PDF, the full talk, a corrected transcript, bilingual summaries, a transcript page for reading along, and my own mindset deck.

Eric’s own summary — the mindset deck

The 26-page deck is my structure, not a chapter-by-chapter summary of the book. It opens with a mind map that splits mindset in two: the growth mindset inside the learner, and the mentor mindset of the person facing them. The whole deck is then built around the three questions from our session — what a mindset really is, whether trying harder is enough, and what to do when you finally start and it feels awful. Every question is followed by a reference answer, and every quotation in it is tagged with where it came from: the book, the talk transcript, Yeager’s Huberman Lab interview, or Peak by Ericsson and Pool. The last five pages are the how-to — transparency, questioning, stress, purpose, belonging — each with a sentence you can actually say out loud. One honest note: connecting Peak to 10 to 25 is my own bridge; Yeager never cites Ericsson.

This is simply a convenient download relay. You do not need to take everything, and downloading a file does not count as learning it. Pick one question you genuinely want to understand, read or watch a little, then try one idea. Learning is endless; time is not. Leave the rest to JOMO.
